Have started on a stop-motion animation project. Nothing exactly defined as of yet, just something to get myself back into the swing of building stuff. Since I am limited on space (don't want to sprawl), I decided to keep my animation space to 2 feet by 2.5 feet. Depending on the scale I use the most, this would equate to a 24 foot by 30 foot soundstage or just a 12 foot by 15 foot soundstage. Puppets will be forthcoming! Pictures are of just the set up as it looks right now; a 1/4" pegboard floor elevated to allow access underneath for tie-downs, a couple of warm-white fluorescent lights for general lighting. This project was started as a handshaken agreement between myself and Skadjer to actually have something in the way of an animation project in production by March of 2009.

The stage is on top of a filing cabinet, mostly for stability (several hundred pounds of paper and wood). The two human figures are about twelve inches tall (technically, 11.3", making them 5' 8" tall at 1:6 scale). More images will be posted as I clean them up and have something worthwhile showing. The stage will be clamped to the filing cabinet with home-made wooden clamps at the front. The two plywood pieces supporting the edges of the pegboard are L-shaped; the leg of the L is going down behind the cabinet.

Noticed it has been a while since I have even posted anything here, not really much to discuss in my daily life. However, I have stumbled upon a fellow stop-motion animation maven. That got me thinking about getting back into doing some form of animation tinkering again, purely for experimentation sake. I have also been getting myself more psyched up to push for a costume of some sort for Ren-Faires/Sci-Fi and Fantasy conventions. Will post images as soon as they are scanned and colored.

I had been meaning to get myself some up-to-date audiovisual recording gadgets and I have them in my hot little hands. Picked up a video camera to get back into the videography hobby and picked up a digital still camera to play around with. Managed to actually spend almost a 1/3 less than I did with my 35mm still camera rig! The still camera will now enable me to snap pics and post them to my journal. Stay tuned!

Okay Kiteless! I'm here! This should prove to be an interesting experiment to say the least. To all of those who may stumble upon this, I am not anyone of consequence; I am merely an artist with an unhealthy interest in fantasy creatures, namely dragons and griffins, though I don't draw nearly enough for some folks tastes! ;) I am finally getting into creating conceptual art for those who need it and may one day make it a job that pays the bills; the first thing that I must do though is to reduce the bills to a minimum so that I can actually make it pay! Anyway, I am here to offer my comments on the world at large and maybe even share a few of the artpieces that I create.
